Again, I have another blog published, this time with the Sociological Review’s Solidarity and Care project. The blog, which talks about our relationship with plants during Covid, is part of some writing I’m doing on the subject of plants, labour and care.
Choose three of the most annoying, or most nondescript ‘weeds’ in the garden, or from wherever. Plant them up and stick them on the windowsill. Treat them like your most prized orchid. See how you feel after a few weeks. I think it may take this level of radical action to even begin to reframe our view of ‘weeds’. You never know, I might even do it myself! But do I have the moral strength, I wonder?
